As Lik Birlesik Bankasi, we have long known and highlighted at every chance the importance of women's increased and active participation in the economy for sustainable economic growth and community development. In this journey, we have been addressing our activities for women entrepreneurs for 15 years under 4 main headings as “financing”, “encouraging”, “education” and “opening to new markets”. We started to provide the first financial support for women entrepreneurs with the “Women Entrepreneur Support Loan” in 2006. Furthermore, we became the first bank from Turkey to sign the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). In terms of encouraging, on the other hand, we launched Turkey's Woman Entrepreneur Competition 15 years ago, together with KAGİDER (Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey) and Ekonomist magazine, to make women entrepreneurs' voices heard and to help them inspire other entrepreneurs like them. In the field of education support, we launched the program called “Women Entrepreneurs Executive School” in 2012 with Boğaziçi University Lifelong Learning Center. Moreover, as a result of searching for answers to the question “what can we do to empower entrepreneurs to find new markets and customers?”, we started to organize “Women Entrepreneurs Meetings”. As a stakeholder playing an effective role within the entrepreneurship ecosystem with our women entrepreneurs program whose 15th anniversary we celebrated, we will continue to provide comprehensive and sustainable supports to more women within the areas they need.
